Scottish Cup 3rd round tie played on astrograss at Williamwood having been postponed the previous week.
Cove are one of the top teams from Aberdeen and North regions and one of the teams fancied as having a chance of winning the Cup so this was a tremendous performance by Busby. In the first five minutes a nervous and hesitant defence gave Cove a great chance but shot was hit wide from 15 yards. We then settled into the game and Rudy Kingwaya in particular was giving Cove defence real problems with his pace but couldn't get a clean shot away on a few occasions. Alistair Brown was fighting hard against two central defenders to create space forRudy and Kyle Maxwell. However mid way through the half a Cove striker turned Shaun Alexander and hit a fine shot low into the corner.
In the second half we had the majority of play and shots at goal without any clear openings. David Hayton and David Cairns were having good games on each wing. Jack Gaskell and Robbie Falconer were also on top of the Cove midfield who seemed to revert to just 1 striker. This gave room for Shaun Alexander to move forward more and leave Chris Clark and Craig Blair at the back.
With just under 10 minutes to go Rudy got to the byeline and cut ball back to Div whose shot was turned home by Dean McKirdy for the equaliser. Striaght from the kick off Alex Dempster pulled off a great save to tip over a cracking drive.
A well deserved draw and we'll have to do it all again up in Cove.
