Busby U15's 1 - 2 Eastwood: Overlee 7 September

Busby started this Scottish Cup match well and took a deserved lead after 20 minutes. A good spell of possession and some quality passing lead to the opener with Mark McHendry finding David Cosgrove with a through ball and the striker smashed the ball into the top corner of the net. As is too common for the under 15s they then allowed Eastwood back into the game with sloppy passing and poor defending. This lead to the equaliser before the half-time break and then again after half-time when Eastwood deservedly took a 2-1 lead. Busby lifted their game for the last 10 or so minutes but in all honesty it was in vain and never really threatened apart from a goal being chopped off in the dying minutes for offside. Overall it was a performance which disappointed coaches Andy Hicks and John O'Neill, after a promising start the team never performed well enough and in the end deservedly fell at the first hurdle in the Scottish.
