Sunday 4 October 2009 - League, Home: Busby U17 1 - 3 East End U17

A disappointing result in a game that we dominated in the first half. We scored after 15 minutes against the run of play when Rudy Kingwaya played a short pass to Jack Gaskell at the edge of the penalty box and he took one touch before curling into the corner of the net. After that we had several good chances to extend the lead but shots either off target ortheir goalkeeper saved well. After half time we could not create chances despite having an equal amount of possession and paid the price for at times holding on to the ball too long or trying to take on an extra player instead of playing the simple pass. East End were also the more agrressive team in the challenge. They scored 2 goals in quick succession after around 10 minutes of the half. Jack Gaskell had to come off as he took a blow to the top of his foot and had to go to Casualty (nothing broken but could be out for 2-3 weeks). We missed his drive from the middle of the park and in the last minute East End scored again after a poor clearance to put an unfair gloss on the scoreline.
