Sunday 30 August; Busby U17 4 - 4 Torrance BC U17
A second consecutive 4-4 draw in the league against a good Torrance teamthat beat us twice at the end of last season.We needed to make a few changes to last week's team - Rudy Kingwaya suspended, Chipper ill and David Hayton and Dean McKirdy injured. In came Shaun Alexander at the back, Calum Moffat at wing back and Robbie Falconer at centre forward. We again took an early 2 goal lead - Jamie Booth scoring after Kyle Maxwell's shot hit the bar and then Kyle scored himself. It was a very open game and Torrance soon equalised. Alistair Gardiner had to come off injured towards end of first half - Blair Johnson coming on - and we almost scored when Alistair Brown strongly held off the defender and laid it back to Robbie who had a fine shot well saved. David Cairns scored just before half time to make it 3-2 at the break. Again a very open second half and Torrance equalised with Shaun Alexander looking for a foul before ball was played in. We gave away a sloppy 4th goal getting disposessed at the edge of the box before Blair Johnson scoreda fine goal after controlling a high through ball. That was the end of the scoring but a few chances still fell to either team and Jack Rogers washarshly ruled offside when clean through in last couple of minutes.
