Sunday 23 August; Busby U15 2 - 2 Barrhead U15

The new season kicked off with a few new faces in the Under 15's. Busby had the advantage of the wind in the first half but failed to capitalize on it with a few near misses on the Barrhead goal but the forwards just could not find the net. The second half was a contrast with Barrhead taking full advantage of the wind to go on the attack  and they got their reward with a goal 15 minutes into the second half. Unfortunately the Busby heads went down and Barrhead made it 2 with 20 minutes of the game left, somehow this seemed to wake the Busby lads up and they pressed forward. Chris Carlin eventually got a goal back with a fine solo effort, however, it seemed too late for a Busby to get a equalizer but with 2 minutes to go Michael Hendry picked up the ball on the left side of the field and chipped a lovely ball past the Barrhead goalkeeper. The boys did well to snatch a draw but need to lift themselves up a level if they want to be challenging for the league. The man of the match goes to Chris Carlin who has improved tremendously in the last few season.
