Sat 23rd May: Busby 8 - 0 Barrhead

Another wet morning  at Kingston Park but made the playing surface good for attacking football and like the last few games Busby scored right from the start a  great run from Michael  Henry who used his pace to  go through the Barrhead defence to make it 1-0. From then on it was wave after wave of Busby attack and this was Busbys best display of the season by far. Tthe team were passing well and keeping possession and the second goal came after 15 minutes when Liam Kinney picked up the ball went through two defenders and chipped the ball into the goal. The first half finished 2 -0 but on another day could have been more with all the strikers missing good chances. It  was more of  the same in the second half with Busby on the attack and the 3rd came from a Craig McFarlane goal with a little help from the Barrhead defender. The game was one way traffic and the 4th goal came from Callum Young who hit a nice left foot shot in the goal. There was no stopping Busby and a fith came from another Liam Kinney  chip and before you could catch your breath Craig McFarlane hit a sweet free kick in the top corner. The boys were not content on sitting on the big lead and goal number seven came when Liam Kinney tucked away a left footer to get his hat trick with the minutes ticking away goal number 8 came when Busbys passing from defence right up the park for Liam to slot the ball away from a nice cross by Michael. This was a great display from the Busby boys who are now playing for 3rd place in the league and you get the feeling if they had a settled side from the start of the season they might be challenging for the league. The man of the match goes to Liam Kinney for his 4 goals but a special mention to the Busby defence who are really getting stronger every game.
