Sat 16th May. Busby 2 - 1 Stamperland.
This game between local rivals was always going to be a close affair but after 3 minutes of play it look like a rout for Busby. From the kick of Lewis Jamison took on 3 players passed the ball to Liam Kinney who flicked the ball to Callum Young to make it 1-0 Busby. Again Busby picked up a free kick almost from the Stamperland kick off, Liam Kinney hit the free kick and Lewis Jamison converted from the keepers rebound. 3 minutesplayed and 2 goals up but that's where the game seemed to end for Busby. It soon became a backs to the wall effort and Stamperland were rewarded with a goal 10 minutes before half time. The second half was more of the same and it was a captains performance at the back from Fraser Moxley and great goalkeeping from Stuart in goals that kept Stamperland at bay.The real winners of the day were the Busby defenders who battled hard. The game ended 2-1 Busby and no doubt Stamperland will feel they should have got something from the game. It was a toss up for man of the match between Fraser and Stuart but a fine save at the end of the game make Stuart man of the match.Busby are now chasing for 3rd place in the league and this would be a real achievement when you consider there bad start to the season.
