Sunday 22 Feb 09: U16 4 - 4 Port Glasgow

Our third and final league fixture resulted in a win, draw and a defeatagainst Port Glasgow this season. We had a poor first half, Rudi Kingwaya missing a couple of great chances, and we lost a second goal right on half time to go in 2-0 down. However a great performance in the next half hour led us into a 4-2 lead.Shaun Alexander scored with a penalty after Gurpal Singh was brought down.It looked a softer award than the challenge on Shaun in the first half thatthe referee didn't give. Rudy then equalised and Alistair Gardiner and Rudiboth got a touch to a cross by Dean McKirdy for the third.  Alistair wasgiven credit for the goal much to Rudi's annoyance(typical centre forward).A fourth goal by Ryan Connolly when he hit a firm drive from the edge ofthe box had us 4-2 ahead. We were guilty of not killing the game - pushing forward and getting ballback in play too quickly -  and Port Glasgow got it back to 4-3 with 10minutes to go. The equaliser came in last minute with the referee notgiving blatant offside against 2 Port players who were both yards offside.A disappointment not to win but an excellent second half performance withgoals spread about the team.
Scorers -  Shaun Alexander, Rudi Kingwaya, Alistair Gardner and Ryan Connolly.
