Sun 08/02:League Away, U16's 1 - 5 Pollok Juv

Home game which we switched to Nethercraigs in order to get the game played. The coaches switched a few of the boys starting positions to freshen things up and try to find a successful formula. A loss was Alistair Gardner who broke a finger at school on Friday. We started reasonably well without creating any clear cut chances. However Pollok scored after 20 mins after what looked like a foul on Ryan Connolly and Pollok played shot home from edge of the box. Two further excellent finishes before half time made it 3-0. At the start of the second we had a couple of excellent chances that we didn’t take and then a further two excellent shots made it 5-0. Rudy Kingwaya had a great chance but hit his lob short and the GK saved before he scored with a fine shot from the edge of the box. The second half we played much better keeping the ball, playing football on the ground and creating chances. Some good performances from Shaun Alexander and Craig Blair in particular. In the second Jamie Booth played well at his usual sweeper position and Kyle Maxwell and Dean McKirdy played well as centre midfielders. Pollok had two players sent off near the end for fouls on Rudy.
