The game started at a fast and furious pace swinging from one end to another.The breakthrough came for Busby after 15 minutes, a move started in there own half with a superb clearance pass from Craig Mc Farlane through to Conner Harrison who passed a inch perfect pass to Conner Cole who took on two Hamilton players before laying the ball onto Callum Young who chipped the ball past the keeper for a terrific finish. The rest of the first half went from end to end and Busby finishing the stronger team. The second half was more of the same with the game stuck in midfield Busbys fast passing broken down with a strong organized Hamilton defence. The Busby forwards were constantly being caught offside which led to more frustration. A moment of controversy led to the Hamilton equaliser, Liam Kinney who deputized in goal was deemed to have picked up the ball twice in his area which led to a indirect free kick just 10 yards from goal. The Hamilton players pushed everyone forward and the freekick was eventually hit high past the Busby keeper for the equalizer. This gave Hamilton the impetus to push forward and Busby were second to every ball for the last 10 minutes of the game. A man of the match performance by Andrew Cunningham helped keep the Hamilton team at bay, with 2 minutes to go the Hamilton centre forward went through on a one on one with the Busby keeper who pulled off a great save to keep the teams level at full time
