The weather conditions were the worst experienced for a long time. Despite this the Busby 21s put a good effort and showed the determination to win this game. Under different circumstances where the weather elements would have been calmer; the manner in which the team approached the game and the way they played their game would have brought about a good football spectacle and a very impressive performance. For the longest part of the game the Busby team had control and possesion and tried hard to generate goal scoring opportunities. On numerous instances Busby reached scoring positions but the final product was not of quality. At the same the delivery of set pieces - including free kicks, side throws and corners - were rather poor and ineffective mainly due to the influence of the strong winds which affected the balls trajectory.
Craig Fry had one of his best appearances so far this season and deserved the MOM award at the end. His effort, flexibility and movement within all areas made a difference on many instances and paid off in the battle to gain possesion. Graeme Brough started in the centre of the midfield and his attacking spirit and forward movement contributed to his overall good performance. Glasgow Uni got a consolation goal which came from a long distance high off the ground shot and which with the strong wind's assistance "fooled" keeper Danny Wright and after veering slightly it ended up in the nets.
The player rotation system by Manager Nikos Koukos brought some unexpected changes in the line up which saw key players on the bench. After the interval, David Fry came in to replace Adam Hoggan while the other changes made were the replacement of Scott Rodgers by Stuart Dutch and later Michael McGlynn taking the place of Mark Gilfillan at the left back. Neil Fraser started the game on the left side and particularly within the second half he performed well; while Scott Rodgers got his start in this game though found it slightly hard to adapt to the severe weather conditions. Overall, all palyers had a good performance and tried hard for a victorious result.
