Sunday 12th Oct 2008 - St. Mirren 1 v Busby 3 - Ferguslie Sports Centre

Busby travelled away for the third time in 4 league games to a St. Mirren team who boasted a 100% record in the division. After a tentative opening 15 minutes Busby broke the dead-lock when a Jack Cain shot looped over the keeper. The lead was then doubled when Mark McHendry volleyed home into the top left hand corner of the net leaving the keeper with no chance. Busby were now passing the ball well and after a scramble in the home teams box, Scott Miller slammed the ball home from close range to put Busby 3-0 up at half-time. The second half became a little stop-start with both teams conceding numerous fouls, however Busby did concede a goal due to lack of concentration. The team battled well throughout the entire match while playing some very good football and probably should have added to the 3 goals scored. The victory keeps them joint leaders in the league.
